Firefox 3 still remains a great browser for all those that can't get extensions to work with more recent versions of Firefox.

The main innovations in Firefox 3 were the options for anonymous browsing are the ability to reopen tabs that have been closed by mistake. There aren't really any revolutionary changes in Firefox 3.6. The look remains the same but some new features have been introduced.

Perhaps the most significant of all is that it comes with Personas already installed so you don't need to install the add-on. If you've never used it, Personas gives you a huge degree of flexibility over how you customize Firefox. Also now, if a plug-in is outdated, Firefox will warn you so that you can maintain security while browsing.

Firefox is now completely compatible with HTML5, and allows you to view high-definition video in full screen. And of course, Firefox 3.6 benefits from the latest version of the Gecko browser engine and improvements in running JavaScript. It still suffers from the perennial Firefox problem of memory leakage though.

Firefox 3.6 isn't a drastic change from 3.5, retaining the same appearance with the main differences being Personas now coming as standard, support of HD Full Screen video and some small technical changes.

    Lost my Add-ons!

    3.6 does not support my favorite add-ons like Greasemonkey. I wish I could downgrade successfully. Any ideas?... More
